How to study this area
General information is the most studyable area on the whole exam, which is exactly why it is the worst one to neglect. Unlike the ability subtests, you cannot reason your way to the answer — but you also do not need to, because the items come from a small set of concrete source documents. Read RA 6713 (the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials) and the 1987 Constitution carefully once, take short notes on the parts that define duties, rights, and institutions, and you will recognise most of the items on sight.
Add the supporting topics — peace and human rights, environmental management, and current national matters — as lighter reading on top of that core. The most efficient way to retain this material is active recall: after reading a section, close it and write down what you remember, then check. Recognition built that way survives the pressure of exam day far better than a single passive read-through.
Common mistake. Many repeaters lose points here that were entirely within their control, by treating general information as something to glance at rather than study.
